The universality in art is a curious mixture of logic and intuition; it is the potency of this mixture that may evoke in the viewer a sense of the sublime.

In my painting I try to evoke the universal through the specific. I try to communicate the mind from the very edge of knowing. Sometimes I feel like I am out on a high tightrope and looking down. On one side lies meaning and on the other - futility.

Surely, this is the dangerous chasm of the schizoid in art.

For the creator, art must be a question, answers are irrelevant.  For the viewer, art must be an answer to which the question must be found.

Art is the material reflection of spiritual reality. It is the unconscious and intuitional force that, through its stimulation and nourishment, contributes to our thought pattens of the future. Painting is still (as with our earliest cave-dwelling ancestors) an evolutionary precursor towards future language. The textbooks will only ever be written after the created works have communicated their value to us.
