2014 turns out to be a very exiting year for me. It is the year of my seventieth birthday and I celebrate by painting a series of seventy canvases.
We then fly to Bologna again for the annual 'Little Treasures exhibition curated by my dear European representative, Paola Trevisan of Trevisan International Art. We spent my birthday in Venice and fulfilled my wish to spend the actual day in a gondola on the Grand Canal.
We enjoyed a wonderful time in Venice, staying at a beautiful hotel overlooking the Grand Canal. We met up with the photographer Barbara Castiglione who introduced us to her friend, architect and gallery owner Gianluca Ballarin. Much to our delight, Gianluca offered me a show in his gallery. It was decided, with the help of Paola Trevisan, that we should put together a solo exhibition of my work for July and August of this year. (Concurrent with the Venice Biennale) Also, Barbara organised a special photoshoot of me in Venice. Her photographs with my exhibition paintings will be published in book form for the show.
